High-quality, High-speed camera with Ultra-low noise
The FASTCAM Orion is the world’s first high-speed camera to integrate both BSI (Back Side Illumination) and CDS (Correlated Double Sampling) technologies. This combination effectively reduces noise in low-light conditions, resulting in improved black level representation and enhanced dynamic range. It is especially suitable for users performing Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and Digital Image Correlation (DIC) for stress analysis of materials.

Standard features of the FASTCAM Orion include an internal mechanical shutter that allows for remote system calibration, a high-performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface for camera control and high-speed image downloading, and a memory partitioning function that enables recording on one partition while downloading from another. It also supports a variety of industry-standard lens mounts such as Nikon G-Type, C-mount, and Canon EF—with software control for focus, aperture, and autofocus functions on EF lenses.
The FASTCAM Orion comes with the user-friendly yet feature-rich Photron FASTCAM Viewer (PFV) software, as well as the Photron Device Control SDK for integrating the camera with custom user software. Additionally, it offers libraries for camera control within MATLAB or LabView environments.
